Lily Pond Float Flying Report
Maybe it was guilt caused by missing last weeks Lily Pond Float fly, that prompted Wayne to call for an impromptu Float Fly this Saturday. Many were offered the chance to partake in the fun, but only four stalwart flyers, who apparently had nothing better to do, showed up. Wayne, Joe, Rollie and Art A. took advantage of the great weather to churn up the surface (and air) around Lily Pond. The weather was great for a couple hours, then the wind came up a bit, keeping the electric Wilga's of Wayne and Rollie grounded. The Seamasters and Seamaster II's were in their element. The wind actually helped the planes make great approaches and landings. Everyone took at least five good long flights. Joe's grand-daughter's kayak sat idle all the while as there was no need for it. The culmination of this event was the feed of hotdogs and those fantastic onions put on by Wayne. Each of us ate three dogs apiece. By noon everyone had cleared out and the lights turned off.
